WORK GROUP TO STUDY ISSUES RELATED TO UTERINE FIBROIDS

Work Group formed in July 2015 (Chapter 24, Acts of 2015). Representatives from Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, experts in uterine fibroids, and other interested persons examined incidence of uterine fibroids among women in Maryland, treatment operations, and need for more research.
Work Group submitted its report on June 30, 2016.

In June 2006, formation of the School of Public Health at the University of Maryland, Baltimore was approved by the Board of Regents of the University System of Maryland; however, accreditation of the School was delayed due to budgetary constraints. In 2009, a Public Health Program was approved in the School of Medicine.
